Q: My TMSL-55 scanner scans barcodes, but the scanned data does not appear on my computer. What should I do?
A: Please try the following troubleshooting steps:
1. Check the connection between the scanner and USB cradle
Make sure the scanner is properly paired with the USB cradle. When the scanner is successfully connected, the blue LED on the cradle should be lit.
If the blue LED is not lit, please scan the address code on the back of the USB cradle to pair the scanner with the cradle.
2. Check whether the scanner is in USB HID mode
If the scanner is paired with the cradle but the scanned data still does not appear, the scanner may be configured in Virtual COM Port mode.
Please scan the following USB HID mode configuration barcode to switch the scanner back to USB HID mode.
USB HID mode allows the scanner to work like a keyboard, so scanned barcode data can be entered directly into software such as Notepad, Excel, or your POS application.
3. Check whether the scanner is in Inventory Mode
Another possible cause is that the scanner is working in Inventory Mode.
In Inventory Mode, scanned data is stored in the scanner's internal memory instead of being transmitted immediately. The stored data will be uploaded later when the “Upload” configuration barcode is scanned.
To return to normal scanning, please scan the following Exit Inventory Mode configuration barcode.
4. Test the scanner
After completing the above steps:
- Open Notepad or another text-input field on your computer.
- Place the cursor in the text field.
- Scan a barcode.
- Check whether the barcode data appears on the screen.
If the scanner still does not transmit data after these steps, please contact TEEMI Customer Support. We will be happy to help you troubleshoot the scanner further.
