How can I configure a TEEMI 2D barcode scanner to scan California driver's license PDF417 barcodes for the California DOJ Dealer Record of Sale Entry System (DES)?

TEEMI 2D barcode scanners support scanning PDF417 2D barcodes from California driver's licenses and identification cards. Models such as T22N-AU, TMSL-55CR, TMSL-56CR, and other TEEMI 2D scanners can be configured to meet the California DOJ Dealer Record of Sale Entry System (DES) formatting requirement.

The California DES system requires every Line Feed (LF) character in the PDF417 barcode data to be replaced with a caret character (^) before the data is transmitted to the computer.

The character conversion is:

LF (ASCII Decimal 10 / Hex 0x0A) → ^

Please kindly scan the provided configuration barcode to enable this setting.

After configuration:

• The scanner will continue reading PDF417 driver's license barcodes normally.
• LF characters will be replaced with caret characters (^).
• Other barcode data will remain unchanged.
• The scanner will continue working in USB HID keyboard mode without requiring additional software or drivers.

This configuration only changes the output format of the LF separator character. It does not modify, remove, or rearrange any driver's license information.
